This is video by the CSIRO talks about the early days of dung beetles and background for bringing them to Australia.
Here you can see the dung beetle rolling a piece of dung. It has been said: “it can lift the equivalent of a man pulling six double-decker buses: 1,141 times its own body weight.”
These Dung Beetles are in heaven! There is so much dung to feed and bury here. Nothing like a fresh dung dropping to make their day.
The dung beetles are ready to be shipped to a farm. These beetles will ultimately take the dung and bury and eat it, reproduce and die. All with the benefits to the environment of reducing CO2 levels and improving soil fertility.
